high-end business

Airbus’s design brief was to create a high-end business class experience. For this purpose, we chose our user as a regular business class traveler. This is an obvious choice for our user, however, since this user is accustomed to the generic business class attributes, this forced us to think and research outside of the box.

concepts en-route

We focused on the the areas of the travel for business, how the plane environment affects your comfort, and the personal plane experience for the traveler.

derived insights

1. How might we transform the airplane to a more dynamic home environment?

2. How might we create an adaptive environment that reduce stress for the user?

3. How might we create an optional social environment?

we used these insights to drive our exploration which led us to our final concept statement

the layout

personal yet efficient

we chose this layout due to the compactness of the seat without sacrificing seat space for the passenger.

the final layout, with pause area toward the left and the main seating in the middle.

the seat

the seat required a compact form, yet felt big enough where the traveler could spread out and make it feel like home

make it yours

the final seat was a product of the requirements of both the environment and the user. A custom area that feels like home yet still space efficient

the “pause area”

i worked specifically on the pause area, designing the overall experience and middle pause bar. sketches and 3d model for the table and the and bar done by myself.
