A minimalistic natural lantern using Himalayan salt to create an abundance of light through the use of the dispersing properties of the salt. Made from wood, leather, aluminum and salt, this lantern is made to last for generations. This is nature’s light. (spring 2017, 14 week project)
This projects main goal was to create a light out of natural material, which lead to the main chunk of the project being focused on material. Once the material lead me to the idea for a salt lamp, ideation was a key tool in form and design development.
